If you're flying into Vienna (VIE) for your stay in Trnava, you're not alone — most of our international guests do the same.
And I know from experience that this part of the journey can feel a little confusing at first.
So here's my personal guide to getting from Vienna Airport to Trnava — including the options I recommend the most, and what to avoid.
🚗 Option 1: We Can Pick You Up (If We're Available)
Yes, really!
If my husband or I are free, we're happy to pick you up directly from the airport and bring you to your apartment in Trnava. It's the most comfortable option, and often the easiest — especially if you're tired or arriving late.

🚕 Option 2: Bolt Ride from Vienna Airport to Trnava
Bolt is one of the easiest and most common ways to travel directly from Vienna Airport to Trnava.
You can open the app as soon as you land and request a ride.
💶 The price typically ranges between €80–€100, depending on the time and traffic.
💡 Tip: Make sure your mobile data or eSIM is active so you can request the ride without delays.
🚆 Option 3: Public Transport (Train + Transfers)
This is the most budget-friendly, but also the most complex option.
Here's what it looks like:
- Vienna Airport → Vienna Hauptbahnhof (main train station)
- Vienna Hauptbahnhof → Bratislava Hlavná stanica
- Bratislava → Trnava
It works — but I usually recommend it only if: • You're traveling light • You're familiar with train travel in Central Europe • You're not arriving late at night

🚘 Option 4: Rental Car from Vienna Airport
If you're planning weekend trips or want to explore outside of Trnava, it may be worth renting a car at the airport.
The drive to Trnava takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. All major rental companies are available directly at the terminal.

Most guests either take a Bolt or ask me in advance if we can pick them up. Both options are reliable and get you straight to the apartment door — no dragging suitcases across platforms or standing in lines.
