One of the questions I get most often from our guests is: "Where should I eat while I'm here?"
Whether you're in the mood to sit down for dinner, grab a quick baguette, or order lunch to your apartment — I've got you covered. Below are my personal, tried-and-tested food recommendations in Trnava — the same ones I share with all our long-stay guests.
🍷 For a Nice Dinner with Outdoor Seating: Akadémia
If you're looking for a great restaurant for a full lunch or dinner, Akadémia (in the Nádvorie courtyard) is my go-to. Their seasonal menu is always high quality, and the outdoor seating in the inner courtyard makes it a lovely place for a quiet evening.
💡 It's a little pricier, but totally worth it — many of our guests return multiple times.
🍣 For Delivery That Feels Like a Restaurant: Simply Sushi (And More)
Despite the name, Simply Sushi does much more than just sushi — and it's all excellent quality.
They offer daily lunch menus that include soup, a main course, and dessert — a full, filling Slovak-style meal delivered straight to your door.

I recommend trying their bento-style warm meals or their teriyaki chicken if you're not in the mood for sushi.
🍕 Best Pizza in Trnava (Hands Down): Bistro Gallo
Bistro Gallo is our favorite pizza in town — and I'm picky about dough!
It's dairy-free, slow-fermented, and always baked perfectly. The ingredients are fresh and simple, just like real pizza should be.
Tip: Order early on weekends — they're popular and sometimes sell out.
🥗 Vegan or Healthy Fast Food? Try Forky's (on Wolt)
If you're in the mood for something fast, healthy, and vegan, Forky's is a great choice.
You'll find burgers, bowls, salads, and plant-based versions of Slovak dishes. It's available on Wolt, so you can have it delivered right to your apartment.
Great for lunch or even a light dinner when you've had a heavier lunch elsewhere.
🥖 Quick Bite or Takeaway? Bagetka 85
Need something fast before work or between meetings?
Bagetka 85 is a local favorite — they bake their baguettes fresh three times a day, and you can taste the difference.
Their menu includes fresh sandwiches, salads, and occasional pastries. They're also on Wolt, or you can stop by in person if you're nearby.
